Calling All Student Shutterbugs!
The Point Pleasant Environmental Commission will be holding a photo contest for students of the Ocean Road Elementary School, the Nellie Bennett Elementary School, the Memorial Middle School and the Pt. Pleasant High School to be included in a calendar that will be available at the annual Earth Day Celebration at Riverfront Park on Saturday April 26th, 2014.
Photo submissions should be of the local Pt. Pleasant environment and also reflect the theme of this year’s Earth Day celebration. The theme of Earth Day 2014 is “Point Pleasant is Wild for Nature”. Photo submissions should include native wildlife and plants that can be found in and around Pt. Pleasant. Topics include landscaping or gardening for wildlife, bird feeders , decorative ponds, butterfly gardens, bat houses, wildlife conservation, scenic areas of Pt. Pleasant or anything else you can think of! Also, each photo entry must have a description (50 words or less !) explaining the subject matter of the photo.
Thirteen lucky photographers will be selected to be in the “Earth Year” calendar and awards will be given to the photographers whose work is chosen to be used in the calendar.
SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS:
Photo entries should be submitted digitally and in high resolution to: the Pt. Pleasant Environmental Commissions e-mail at [email protected].
The photos must be the original work of the person submitting the entry.
Please limit the entries to 3 per person. Write a brief description of each photograph.
Each entry should be submitted as an individual e-mail containing the students name, grade, school, teacher and contact e-mail.
The deadline for submissions will be March 14th, 2014 .
