Did you know that photographers like Alfred Stieglitz and other photographers part of the "Pictorial Movement" altered their photographs in the darkroom to try to make them look more like paintings and less like photographs? (Notice all of the brushstroke-like marks in the background of that portrait of Stieglitz?)
This was during a time when photography was struggling to be considered a "fine art" like painting, so photographers tried to emulate the look and feel of a painting in their photographs.
Today you are going to act like a Pictorialist and use psykopaint.com to transform a few of your photographs into a digital painting!

When you get to this page click "upload one of your pictures." Choose any photo that you have taken.
You may be asked to "sign-up." Enter your information, it is a free program.

Experiment with different bush styles (each inspired by different famous artists' painting style!), sizes, etc.
Try out different colors, try adding "fx" or use layers.
If you make a mistake, hit the "undo" button.
When you are done, Click "Save & Share" and select "Save to Computer"
Make a total of 3 paintings.
EXTRA TIME? You can also make a painting from scratch, instead of from a photograph. Just go to main start page and click on "Make Painting from Scratch"
